In Exhibition at Nuneaton Art Gallery & Museum

Today I visited Nuneaton Art Gallery & Museum to see my work in exhibition. I am exhibiting with the Coventry & Warwickshire Society of Artists, of which I am a member. It was great to see my work hanging in an art gallery, where it is meant to be viewed.

I was so pleased that my work is pride of place as soon as you walk into the exhibition! I love seeing my work in a gallery as it gives the work space to be viewed. This year the curators and our exhibition secretary have grouped all of the individual artists work together. I felt this was a really good way to show each members work to their full potential, where you do get the feeling of what interests the artist and what mediums they work in. The quality of art in the exhibition is of a very high standard, with some members being professional artists and some amateur. There is a wide range of art within the show including sculptures, mixed media and varied subject matter. In the society prizes are awarded to outstanding pieces, I was lucky enough to receive a 'commended' award for 'Chasing The Light', in acrylic, of which I am very proud.

I also saw a few red dots showing sales of works, which can only be welcomed for the buyer and artist alike. Nuneaton Art Gallery is a lovely space, not pretentious or 'clicky', just relaxing, beautiful and extremely welcoming. The gardens outside of the building are in full summer bloom and many visitors were taking in the sunshine and beautiful surroundings as well as the art!

Loved it!

So glad I went and I am looking forward to seeing my work in our next CWSA exhibition next year, at The Herbert Art Gallery, Coventry.

The Coventry & Warwickshire Society of Artists Exhibition is on at Nuneaton Art Gallery & Museum until 17th September. It's a real treat for art lovers and shows the talent of local artists of all ages and levels. I would recommend.

Visit Nuneaton Art Gallery web site for opening times.
