Service Description
Join Emma in the Weston Room for a day of watercolour painting. In this workshop we will be working from a selection of William Morris' designs to create hand made cards. You will be painting onto watercolour paper, then assembling your paintings onto cards. This workshop is great for beginners as well as the more experienced and Emma will provide step by step instruction and advice throughout the day. William Morris is one of the most recognisable artists, which is what he wanted. He bought art to the masses from the elite, he believed everyone should have the right to own beautiful things in the their homes. He was also the founder of the Arts & Crafts movement in this country. In this workshop you will learn: watercolour mixing, applying watercolour layers, drawing intricate designs, building up watercolours, a little history about William Morris, choose from designs provided to create hand made cards. All materials are supplied on the day. Please bring your lunch. Refreshments are provided at a small charge plus free biscuits!
