Low Tide at Robin Hoods Bay 10" x 8" oil on board

Painted early in the morning at Robin Hoods Bay, North Yorkshire, when the tide was a long way out, this oil painting captures the delicate beauty of mosses and sky-blue pools under a bright morning light. I spent around three to four hours plein air painting, observing the shifting landscape as the tide began to come in just as I finished. By 2pm, the entire scene was submerged beneath the sea, making this moment a fleeting glimpse of nature’s rhythm.
