Emma is a professional artist and art tutor working in textiles, paint and mixed media. During her career she has created work in many types of media including paint, ceramics, sculpture, printmaking and textiles. At Coventry University she gained a degree in Art and Craft Studies specialising in ceramics, after her degree she obtained a teaching qualification from Warwick University enabling her to teach adults (CTTLS).
Emma's felt and embroidery paintings are created using merino fibres and free form embroidery. Her work also includes felt vessels, weaving and painting in oils, watercolour and acrylics, where she is interested in capturing colour, texture and light.
Her pieces are happy, vibrant and colourful, conveying the feelings of happy memories, or places that give joy.
Seascapes and flora are her inspirations, she is a keen gardener and she tries to visit the coast as often as she can.
