Service Description
Join Emma in the Garden Room for this full day workshop where we will be drawing and painting the outside, plein air. In the Garden Room we have the opportunity to go into a part of the BVC grounds and paint outside. The view is simple, hedges, a bird table, some flowers and a lawn. These are all easy items to paint and to look at while painting outside. Weather permitting we will have a fab day, painting plein air is really relaxing, refreshing and being with nature is always good for your mental health. Weather permitting we will be painting in the grounds, if the day is wet or cold, we will use the facilities of the Garden Room and paint from inside. Easels, tables and chairs will be provided for your comfort. Firstly we will practice the elements from the view drawing proportions and using acrylic painting techniques. We will then move onto creating a painting using high quality materials. Emma will guide you step by step and help you with your progress individually and as a group. At the end of the workshop we will display all the work within the group and have a small group discussion. You will create a painting on canvas board. In this workshop you will learn: drawing techniques and proportion applying acrylic paint colour mixing brush strokes looking at the outside and looking at proportions depth of field what to include, what to leave out painting on canvas board how to use a ground or underpainting tone, shade, light making black painting from life This workshop is open to all levels beginner to intermediate, and all are welcome. All materials are supplied on the day, you may want to bring an apron, plastic disposable aprons will be provided. Please bring your lunch. Refreshments are provided at a small charge plus free biscuits!
