A - Mazing day!

What an amazing day we had yesterday.

It was my first workshop in over a year and it felt ( ha get it) good. I have started teaching at a new venue, Bulkington Community Centre where I taught my felt bowl workshop.

This was its first outing as a workshop and it could not have gone better. We were all eager to start and the room was perfect with plenty of light, space and was spotlessly clean. We were all safely social distanced and wearing masks when walking around, I revelled in the the fact I was teaching again. I guided my students through the process of wet felting and they all got their hands on the make some really beautiful pieces. It felt relaxed and joyous! I have missed my workshops so much, meeting new people and showing them new skills is a real pleasure.

The day went really quickly with various bowl sizes being made and I taught the group how to make macrame hangers to hang their bowls at home. Lots of skills, learning, fun, laughter and chatting went on. It was so refreshing and we all agreed it was lovely to be with people again, something everyone has missed over this past year. One lady remarked on how relaxing the workshop was and there were comments of how to source the materials as some of the group wanted to make more bowls at home. I was relaxed too. Don't get me wrong, its hard work teaching. Thinking on your feet and having good knowledge of your subject it a must but giving that one on one guidance is what I would expect at a workshop and so this is what I give.

I was very tired drinking my glass of wine at home that evening, but it was a very very good tired, a satisfied tiredness of finally doing what I have been deprived of for 18 months.

I so happy to back teaching my workshops, its a privilege to show others how to create new things. These types of days stay in our memories and may inspire others to carry on with what was taught that day

A great day was had by all.

I have more workshops coming up in throughout the year at Bulkington Community Centre. Click on my workshop page for details on all my classes. You can book directly from the page too, its that easy.

I look forward to meeting you and spending the day creating it away sharing skills, chats and what will be a lovely day.

:)
